The response from federations wanting to participate in the first Boccia World Open of 2015 has been exceptional. The event, due to be held in Poznan from the 16th-22nd June received entry forms from 29 federations by the entry deadline.
The overwhelming response proves that Boccia is going from strength to strength in the world of Paralympic sport and since altering the competition system to increase the number of events the demand has continued to grow.
The event in Poland could have sold out 2 times over such the demand, however the capacity of the venue meant that touch decisions have had to be made by the BISFed Competition Committee to allocate the slots available as fairly as possible. The criteria used ensured that all 29 federations received at least one of the slots they requested.
