1. WELCOME

Welcome to the Poznań 2024 World Boccia Challenger. We are delighted to be hosting a Challenger Event for the third time in Poznan. 3. ENTRY FEE

Please note that any athlete requiring classification must arrive on the 24th June.

 

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STAFF

There will be one 1 athlete to 1 staff ratio, as well as one (1) coach for each Team or Pair category. It is allowed to enter one (1) medical or technical staff (psychologist, sport analysis) and one (1) Team Manager/Team Leader.

Extra staff can be accepted, depending on the hotel’s availability. If so, it might be necessary to arrange rooms in different hotels. An extra fee will be charged in accordance with the Entry Fee table above.

 

SUBSTITUTIONS

The substitution of athletes will only be allowed for reasons of illness or injured athletes for the same class. In such cases, medical documentation will be required and must be considered and accepted by World Boccia.  Staff substitutions will be permitted once they have been analysed by the HOC.

 

 

ENTRY FEES INCLUDE:

  • Competition Registration Fee;
  • World Boccia Capitation Fee;
  • Airport transfers on arrival and departure days (from/to International Ławica Poznań Airport and Ibis & Novotel Poznan Centrum Hotel). For more information on transport, see point 6 „Transport”;
  • All accommodation expenses and all meals, from dinner on June 24th until breakfast on July 2nd (30th June for Individual Competition).

 

 

ENTRY DEADLINES

Please note the following dates when the HOC will require information and payment:

28th March, 2024

  • First Entry
  • Payment of 700 € of the total fee per participant
  • By number, per Individual Class, Pairs and Teams and category of staff
  • To guarantee accessibility, special wheelchair dimensions are required
  • Estimated arrival and departure dates (the eventual need of additional days and extra staff request)

15 th May, 2024:

Important Notice:  There will be no refunds after 15th May.

A penalty fee of 100 euros per person will apply for any unjustified delay in paying the fee.

4. ACCOMMODATION

Teams will be accommodated at the Novotel Poznan Centrum Hotel – 3* an at the Ibis Poznan Centrum Hotel – 3*, in the heart of Poznań – close to Old Market Square, Stary Browar shopping mall. It offers rooms with free Internet and satellite TV.

Regardless of the time of Delegations’ return flights, check-out at the hotels must occur until 12h00 (noon).

5. MEALS

Meals will be served on the following facilities:
Breakfast (June 24 – July 2): Ibis & Novotel Poznan Centrum

Lunch (June 24 – July 1): Event Venue, Sports Centre of Poznan University of Technology

Dinner (June 24 – June 30): Ibis & Novotel Poznan Centrum

Official Dinner (July 1): Ibis & Novotel Poznan Centrum

It is the responsibility of each Delegation to inform the HOC of any special dietary requirements.

6. TRANSPORT

At arrival and departure days, the HOC will provide transportation for all delegations and officials from Poznan Ławica Airport (POZ) to the Hotel and from the Hotel to the Airport.

 

During competition, the HOC will provide transportation on the route Hotel-Venue-Hotel. Detailed transport schedules will be available in the hotel lobby and at the information desk at the venue.

The HOC can organise transport from other airports (Warsaw, Berlin or another) but this service must be requested in advance and paid for separately. The cost depends on the distance and the number of people. Team leaders should contact the HOC before booking airline tickets to discuss the transport possibilities and determine the details.

7. ACCREDITATION

All athletes and officials will be provided an accreditation tag for the Event which must be worn at all times to enable access to warm up, call room and dining area.

It is the responsibility of the Delegations to obtain the necessary visas to enter Poland. Please, use the link below to check if you require a Visa to visit Poland: VISAS – Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Poland – Gov.pl website (www.gov.pl)

Please apply for visas in good time. The HOC will support you wherever possible, but cannot help if the visa application is not made in time.

11. INSURANCE

Each Delegation must attend the Event with its own medical and travel insurance to cover loss of property, injures or medical treatment, travel disruption or luggage loss.

World Boccia, the Polish Boccia Association and the HOC do not accept any liability for injuries or loss of wages due to injuries, so a release form must be signed by all participants (also including classifiers, referees and volunteers).

The HOC will provide a third-party liability insurance for all participants.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE – World Boccia and the Polish Boccia Association, their officers, agents and members shall not be liable for any claims, costs, proceedings or damages of participants arising directly or indirectly from participation in the Poznań 2024 World Boccia Challenger.

12. ANTI-DOPING CONTROL

Anti-doping control will take place at the competition venue in accordance to 2022 BISFed competitions anti-doping procedures and the BISFed Anti-Doping Rules 2021. Both documents are available at the World Boccia wewbsite.

13. WHEELCHAIR REPAIR

A wheelchair repair service will NOT be available at the Event venue. If you require any support with wheelchairs during the event, the HOC will assist as they are able, but is not responsible for its provision.

14. MEDICAL SERVICES

Adequate first aid services will be provided during the Event. If necessary, rapid access to emergency ambulance services will be available.
